Extract of letter from Gerwyn Williams

"The Rev Elwyn Hughes married me in 1964, I think I mentioned he was the Minister of my wife's Church at the time, he remained a friend after he retired. Before the wedding we had to go to his home for instruction etc., on one visit I noticed a German typewriter in his study and passed some comment on how handy such a thing was. The Rev. said that he had got it during his Army service, he told me that prior to "finding" it he had to write his sermons by hand. He found it in the back of an abandoned German truck and liberated it, I said, with a laugh, that it was looting!, he replied that it was divine intervention, the Lord realised how difficult it was for him to write his sermons by hand and answered his prayers, he was quite a man and a half!"
