51st Battalion Royal Tank Regiment

Notes

On transfer to 25th AEB the battalion took with it some of its battle Churchills, together some from disbanded 142nd Regimant Royal Armoured Corps. To this inventory were added Crocodiles (shipped from the UK) and locally built Fascine Carriers, ARKS and Bridgelayers conversions.

The Troop numbering structure was changed as follows:
   'A' Squadron: 1-5
   'B' Squadron: 6-10
   'C' Squadron: 1-15

Tank Names
Without evidence to the contrary it appears that the conversions were not named. The battle Churchills and Crocodiles retained their original names.
