Served with the Irish Horse in the Boer War, after which he settled in South Africa. He returned to his home town at the outbreak of WW One.
Killed in Action age 38, Thursday, 22nd November, 1917, during the battle for the village of Moeuvres, north of the Bapume/Cambrai Road.
